Top Ten: Endings that Blew My Mind

Top Ten is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Endings that Blew My Mind

1. Impulse: I will never get over this ending. It made me want to smash my head against a brick wall. It was beautiful and perfect, yet depressing. It was just plain amazing, take my word for it.

2. Pandemonium: Just finished this today and Ms. Oliver is a goddess when it comes to words and cliffhangers. I think it is safe to say she is my new favorite author.

3. Spirit Bound: I know, I know. I am taking forever with finishing this series. It is so good though! That cliffhanger really makes me want to read the last book even though I already spoiled it for myself. Yes, I know, bad Macy.

4. The Perks of Being a Wallflower: I didn't see that coming...

5. Hide and Seek: Shepard is amazing when it comes to cliffhangers. She always presents you with a whole new suspect at the end of every one of her books to through you off course. It's genius.

6. Before I Fall: Again, Lauren Oliver is amazing. This ending was so shocking that I had to reread it multiple times to finally grasp what really happened.

7. The Summoning: The action had my pulse running, I can't wait to find out what comes next in the next book.

8. Destined: I really give the Cast's credit for their endings that really keep me reading even though this series is now 12 books long....

9. Catching Fire: That last sentence. Wow.

10. Divergent: I can't wait to read Insurgent after all that action.

SUMMARY:
When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton's type is girls named Katherine. And when it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact. On a road trip miles from home, this anagram-happy, washedup child prodigy has ten thousand dollars in his pocket, a bloodthirsty feral hog on his trail, and an overweight, Judge Judy-loving best friend riding shotgun–but no Katherines. Colin is on a mission to prove The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability, which he hopes will predict the future of any relationship, avenge Dumpees everywhere, and finally win him the girl.-Goodreads.com

REViEW:
Oh my  goodness. This book is one everyone should read. Not because it holds a deep life-shaking message, but rather because of how much it made me laugh and smile. The plot wasn't deep, but it's meant to be that way! This is a book based solely on character and crazy situations and things. Like a tampon factory. And 19 girls named Katherine. Deep stuff right? Everything about this story was perfect. It was kind of outlandish, but while reading it, it seemed realistic. The one thing that made this book go a little slow for me was all the math and historical references that Colin makes. It is really unique and cool that there are footnotes and an appendix at end of book, but I felt like after awhile it was just meaningless history allusions, which bored me a little. I wanted to speed right through to Colin and Lindsey's relationship.

John Green's characters are so amazing. Each of them has a distinct personality. Colin was the heartbroken braniac. Hassan, his best friend, was a goofball and freaking hilarious. His dialogue often had me cracking up during study hall. Lindsey was intriguing. I wanted to understand her relationship with the other Colin, and with our Colin. Every other secondary character was also memorable. My favorite scenes were watching how each of these personalities got along.

The ending was spot on perfect. I was so pleased! Ahh it was so cute! At first I was like oh my gosh, John Green did not just trick us! But then at very end, I was like awww just the way things should be. To understand what I mean please go buy this book right this minute! It's awesome sauce. This book had everything from appendixes, to footnotes, to romance and to humor.

My Favorite Part: All the humor and the nerd references hehe!

ALL iN ALL:
Do I recommend this book? Yes it is so funny!

Thanks for reading! Did you like this book or any other John Green books? Comment and let me know!

Top Ten: Books I Recommend the Most

Top Ten is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Books I Recommend the Most

1. The Fault in Our Stars: This has to be my all time favorite book. I recommend it to everyone. It's one of those universal books you can talk to anyone about. All the others I met so far shared their experiences while reading this book with me. We all sympathized with each others tales of full on ugly crying as a result of this beautiful, amazing book.

2. An Abundance of Katherines: Another great John Green book, but this one made me laugh out loud. It's hilarious and a perfect book for nerds! There are even footnotes and an appendix!

3. Impulse: I tell all of my friends who have suicidal thought or cut or something similar to read this book. It changed my life and I'm just hoping more people will read it and understand how important they are and how they are not alone. This book actually helped me realize that I want to be a psychologist.

4. The Perks of Being a Wallflower: Another psychological book. I definitely think everyone should read this book before watching the movie, which is equally if not more amazing. Reading this book just adds so much more to the experience of watching the movie because then you know Charlie more.

5. Thirteen Reasons Why: This book really made me think a lot and helped me see how much people affect one another.

6. If I Stay: This book presents the question that if you had the choice would you stay on this earth or let go? This book really opened my eyes to death and really made me feel things I was afraid to before.

7. Divergent: I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who likes the Hunger Games. It's so much like it, yet still different. Personally I like Divergent better.

8. Wither: This is a very different and very good dystopian tale. I really loved the unique concept of it.

9. Twilight: A classic. Must I say more?

10. Burn for Burn: A new favorite. I just love it, need my review for it later this week! :)

REViEW:
One thing before I begin my rant on this book, it has been months since I read this book, but I have some notes from when I read it so I will try to make this review as accurate as possible. This week I'm going to try to catch up on all my reviews. So this is the third and last book of this series. I absolutely loved, loved, LOVED the first book, like I am still obsessing about it! The second book was also very good, but it didn't have the same free, romantic, happy, easy feel to it that the first book had. This book was the same as the second in that sense. One thing I loved about the first book was that there was so much ocean cheesy humor that was so adorable, this book took a completely serious "Save the Ocean" tone that made this book lose it's free, easy feel. I wish it could have been a lighter read. I still enjoyed the plot nonetheless. It was unique from the others and still was intriguing. It was an easy book to read and gave me a complete and satisfying end to this trilogy.

My favorite part of this book was seeing the growth of all the characters. Lily became a leader and I respected her more and her decisions. Dosinia matured a ton! She used to be just a spoiled brat, but in this book she grew up and became a awesome character to get to know. The same is true for Brody, although I still don't get how Dosinia could change his perspective on mermaids so much. Quince, the whole reason I read these books, was still amazing as always. He is so dedicated to Lily, which I truly admire. I really wish this book could have had more about him and Lily's relationship in it, I missed that. Tellin's plot line I wasn't into. I feel like he wasn't necessary because it was like a almost love triangle but not really. What does that mean? Yeah, I still I don't get it.

The ending was a great conclusion to this sweet little series. Although this book was not my favorite of the series, I still loved this trilogy and this book. The series matured a lot through the series. It started out easy breezy and light and became more mature along with the characters. Now that I think about it I really like that idea. I feel like I can leave Lily and Quince's story feeling confident that they are where they need to be. If Ms. Childs decides to write another book about Quince and Lily I won't complain, but if she doesn't I think I will still live.

My Favorite Part: Once again Quince and also how much Dosinia matured.

ALL iN ALL:
Do I recommend this book? Yes, it's a satisfying end to an amazing trilogy.

Thanks for reading! My plan for the week is a review a day! :D

April Advice

APRiL ADViCE!

No fooling here, I promise. I know I say that a lot, but seriously this month will NOT be pathetic like last month. I'm truly sorry for that. I will post nearly every day this month, even though I'll be busy. Just like in the Perks of Being a Wallflower, I have been too busy "participating." No longer am I just hiding behind the books on my shelves, but really living and loving. I have never had so much fun before in my life. It is truly wonderful to actually think "Why read a fairy-tale, when I'm already living one?" So that's my monthly advice to all of you book lovers out there. Although it is great to find a home in books and to always keep reading, it is also amazing to put the book down and actually live. In my case I just have to get better about blogging, which I will this month. I mean come on, I actually posted my month intro on the first of the month for once! Achievements, I tell you.
