1. The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong: This book is my ultimate October recommendation. This book is super fast paced and incorporates mystery, action, and ghosts. I was sitting at the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this book. If you want a unique and spooky read, this is the book for you.

2. The Caster Chronicles by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia: Stohl and Garcia know how  to blend mystery and suspense with romance. This series is comprised of some of my ultimate favorite spooky reads. The atmosphere of this series is dark and suspenseful. You never know what is to come. Your favorite character might be here today and then dead tomorrow, which rips the reader's heart out but is also super scary.

3. Vampire Diaries Series by L. J. Smith: I love me some vampires, and L. J. Smith knows how to write about swoon worthy ones! If you love the TV show, you'll love the books. The books are completely different from the show and are a lot more eerie. Perfect for a cold, dark October night! 

4. Deadly Little Lies by Laurie Faria Stolarz: This book freaked me out. Take my advice and do NOT read this book while you are home alone. This book is about a stalker and how he or she is always lurking around the main character's house. This book is scary because it is realistic. Although I was upset about who the stalker ended up being, I still loved how frightening this book was.

5. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte: Seeing as though I'm an English major, I have to promote a classic thriller. This book was one of the first classics that I read and loved. This book takes place in an eerie mansion and includes a blend of psychological and historical elements to produce a well-written gothic novel. I highly recommend this book as it is creepy and heartbreakingly beautiful.

6. Dracula by Bram Stoker: Like I previously stated, vampires are the best. That being said, more people need to go back to the original vampire, Dracula. 

7. Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard: This is a very intriguing book. I have not read the other books in this trilogy, but my friends have informed me that they are just as eerie and good as the first. This book contains many gruesome images of ghosts and graveyards, which makes it a perfect book to read in the Halloween season.

8. The Morganville Vampires Series by Rachel Caine: This series is by far one of the best vampire series out there. This series mixes realistic fiction with the supernatural, which puts a unique spin on the overdone vampire love story.

9. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: This series is amazing as I'm sure you already know. This series has action, vampires, and drama: the elements of perfect October reads. 

10. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick: I really enjoyed this book. I have yet to read the rest of the series, but this first book was intriguing and had a spooky feel to it. There's a lot more to Patch than meets the eye.

1. The Summer I Turned Pretty Series by Jenny Han: Don't let the stupid title fool you, this series is AH-MAZING. I cannot stress that enough. This trilogy perfectly encompasses summer love. Plus what's not to love about two strikingly handsome brothers! Ahhh Jeremiah and Conrad are the perfect summer boyfriends. 

2. Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen: Or any book by Sarah Dessen for that matter. Sarah Dessen is hands down one of my favorite contemporary YA authors. Her books are so heartfelt and enchanting. I am reading Saint Anything next because I'm going to meet her this month (YAYYYY!). I'm sure Saint Anything will be the perfect beach read because Sarah Dessen knows how to create swoon worthy men. (Still not over Dexter from This Lullaby!) Anyway, Dessen has a lot of books that actually take place in the summertime so it is definitely the best time to read them!

3. All I Need by Susane Colasanti: This book. All the feels. Still in love with Seth. I relate to this book way more than I care to admit. It's a perfect, swoon worthy summer book. It's about Skye, a senior in high school, who falls in love with Seth, who just graduated from high school. Skye and Seth have a lot of summer adventures, but then Seth has to go away to college, which leads to some complications. But, of course, it ends happy and with a big act of affection which I love, love, LOVED! Definitely read this book! 

4. Paper Towns by John Green: Because the movie comes out JULY 24th!!! Yayyy! I am so pumped to read this book on my upcoming beach trip and am so excited to see the movie! I even convinced my boyfriend to read it with me. So come on, if he will read it, so should you.

5. To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han: Another Jenny Han book because she's just THAT good! The sequel to this book, P.S. I Love You, comes out May 26th, so read it before then! It's a super quick, intriguing, fun read. This book focuses on family, which is really important and not normally seen in YA. There's also two cute guys so there's them as well haha ;D

6. Clarity by Kim Harrington: This book features a girl who has to help solve a mystery with her special gifts. It's a lot better than my lame summary. This book is so underrated, it needs to be read more!

7.  Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs: Mermaid books are perfect for summer and this is by far my favorite. It's so good! Don't let the stupid title fool you. It's really not a children's book, it's very much YA. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and Quince remains one of my favorite fictional boyfriends. Quince and Lily have a love-hate relationship in this book which is super fun to read.

8. The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle: Just read my review on this one. This book is one of my ultimate favorites. 

9. The Heir by Kiera Cass: I'm reading this book next because it was just released. I loved The Selection Series so I cannot wait to dive into this book. Plus the dress on the cover is super beautiful, so pack this in your beach bag even just to look at.

10. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout: I plan to finish this series this summer because it is amazing and stars a book blogger named Katy! Daemon is the ultimate summer hottie too. He makes me smile just thinking about him...It's not like I'm obsessed with fictional guys or anything *laughs nervously*...(Don't tell my boyfriend.)

Top Ten Books I Was Forced to Read

1. Of Mice and Men: I'm so glad I had to read this book in my Sophomore lit class. It was amazing. I loved Lennie so I totally cried like a little baby at the end. This is definitely a classic I recommend, it reads like a modern day novel.  

2. Harry Potter: I was forced by my mom and friends to read The Sorcerer's Stone. I didn't like it so I never read the rest, but I do love the movies.

3. Pride and Prejudice: This classic wasn't for me because it had a little too many descriptions. Nevertheless, I'm glad I read it and hope to read some more Austen before I die.

4. Romeo and Juliet: This is a classic. The classic that every human being should read. I named my kitty after Romeo. Enough said.

5. Hamlet: Read Shakespeare. This play blew me away. There is so much action and well executed drama that I can't stand how intense this play is! I loved it. Thank you my favorite teacher everrrrr for making my class read it! 

6. The Scarlet Letter: This book bored me from the start. The story is great when I watched the movie and saw the play, but the book was so long and boring.

7.  The Old Man and the Sea: It's 80 pages, but that was a horribly long 80 pages...

8. Insurgent: I loved Divergent with all my heart, which is why I never read this book until I was forced to by my lovely book club. They insisted on reading Insurgent as soon as we finished our Divergent discussion, forcing me to swallow my hesitations and dive into this book. This is one of the few sequels that was actually as good as the first. 

9. Catching Fire: I loved loved loved The Hunger Games, but was leery to read this book. Only reason I read it is because my best friend made me because she loves this series so much. Because I thought The Hunger Games was perfect, this book made me sad. I didn't like it nearly as much as I enjoyed the first.

10. Mockingjay: I'm afraid to read this book, but my Hunger Games super fan best friend is making me read it. *Whimpers*

Top Ten: Endings

1. Impulse: I still want to bang my head against a brick wall when this book even crosses my mind. I just never saw that coming and it was horribly perfect. I'm still not over it.

2.  Fire with Fire: You should know my rant on this book by heart by now. But seriously. I'm like squirming in my seat waiting for the next book. It better be on my door step midnight the day it comes out. I'm serious.

3. Crushed: The Pretty Little Liars series has always had the best endings. This one just disturbed me so much that I think I loved it. Amazing job, Shepard.

4. Delirium: I loved this ending. Those last few paragraphs were beautifully and flawlessly written. My heart broke. Tears may have been shed.

5.  Before I Fall: This is another one of those so terrible it's amazing endings. I hated Sam at the beginning and was bawling my eyes out by the end. Definitely not what I expected to happen. 

6. Burn for Burn: Siobhan and Han better stop awing me with their amazing endings. Although not as memorable as Fire with Fire, this ending definitely had me hooked. Heck  I even went to the Book Expo of America just for the sequel. (Totally worth it if I do say so myself.) 

7.  All I Need: Swoon. Like awww!!! I'm speechless, it was so adorable! This is what I want in a guy. Seth is definitely a good guy!

8. Awakened: I thought I had given up all hope in the House of Night series...and then this ending happened. I just couldn't abandon it then.

9. Spirit Bound: Vampire Academy is amazing. This ending made me freak out then start the next book. Totally unexpected plot turn!

10. Beautiful Chaos: I'm partially sad about this ending, but it makes me need the next book. Ethan better have some Beautiful Redemption.

Top Ten: Best Sequels Ever

1. Fire with Fire: Rant time. I am truly, madly, deeply in love with this book. Someone please talk to me about that ending because it still keeps me up at night. This is actually the only sequel that I enjoyed more than its preceding first book. Way to go Han and Siobhan for making me be smashing my head against my pillow waiting and hoping to read the last book sooner than next year. I will be eagerly waiting.  

2. Where She Went: After reading that beautiful book, If I Stay, narrated by Mia, I loved getting to see how her choice played out in Adam's life. This book wasn't as touching as If I Stay was, but this book was still an amazing companion.

3. Insurgent:When I read the Hunger Games I had high expectations for Catching Fire and was left disappointed. I was afraid the same thing would happen with Insurgent. Thankfully Ms. Roth kept up her high-action, fast-paced, perfect book. This book wowed me as much as the first.  

4. Beautiful Darkness: I needed more Ethan in my life. It was so interesting to see how Lena's claiming changed pretty much everything.

5. Frostbite: I love Vampire Academy, but I probably wouldn't have finished the series if the second book didn't draw me in. The first book wasn't the best, but it was totally worth the read to get into the heart of this amazing series.

6. Pandemonium: I can't believe I haven't reviewed this one yet. I absolutely fell in love with Delirium and this book was just as good! 

7. The Dead Girls' Dance: This series is the bomb. The action this book kept me intrigued the whole ride through.

8. It's Not Summer Without You: The love continues in this installment. I loved the summer freedom feel of the book, which made this trilogy one of my favorites.

9. The Struggle: The struggle is real. I am addicted to Vampire Diaries. Like literally. I had to pull myself away from Season 2 of the show just to post this message and am about to run back to watch some more as soon as I hit this publish button. *Cue over obsessed girlfriend face*

10. Never Have I Ever: I am really surprised by how much better this series is written then Pretty Little Liars. This series is so suspenseful and I cannot wait to read more.

1. The Hunger Games: It's now a classic. I shouldn't have to explain myself.

2. Divergent: Probably one of my favorite books ever. Such an interesting way of life with the factions.

3. Delirium: It'd be terrible to live in a world with no love, but the world was so intriguing. I love the idea of the Wilds where people run away to in order to be able to love.  

4. Wither: This world was really depressing with the way the wives were taken. The entire premise of this book captivated me instantly and made for an amazing book. All of the sister wives were such great characters, especially Cecily.

5. Eve: I really enjoyed this book. The journey in this book was so interesting and all of the characters were perfect.

6. Matched: The premise of the Society where people are matched to their spouse, without any input. It's a fascinating series and the rebellion is really intense.

7. Taken: I loved how when boys are 18 they are taken from their homeland. It was such a mystery as to why and now that I found out why the story has become very twisted.

8. For Darkness Shows the Stars: The setting and plot of this book is intriguing and perfect.

9. Legend: This book seems so exciting! I cannot wait to read it! I have heard so many great things about it.

10. Black City: I cannot wait to dive into this world either!

1. The Fault in Our Stars: You know if someone didn't have to die... I'm still not over that. *sniff sniff*

2. This Lullaby: Remy and Dexter are the best couple ever and I want more of them. Dang it Sarah Dessen! You and your heartthrob guy characters...

3. An Abundance of Katherines: John Green's characters are the best and I cannot get enough of Colin, Lindsey, and of course, the most memorable and hilarious, Hassan!  

4. Choker: This book scares the heck out of me. I want to know more about this mentally unstable girl.

5. All I Need: I really want to read more about Skye and Seth's relationship and how they manage through college.

6. The Host: I need more Stephenie Meyer. I'm in serious Twilight withdraw here.

7. Along for the Ride: Auden's still growing and experiencing more firsts. The story was so heartfelt I really want to read more. I need to know that Eli and Auden are still okay.

8. Clean: I want to know about how Olivia is doing and more about if the teens went back to their old ways.

9. Thirteen Reasons Why: I would love to see more reasons that would drive a person to suicide and to wonder what could have been done to prevent it.

10. Impulse: I am absolutely and utterly obsessed with this book. 'Nuff said.

Top Ten Turn Off Topics of Books 

1. All New Creatures: It can be a blessing or a curse if an author invents a new kind of person or a whole new world. Most books I've read lately have been a curse because of this. If an author cannot fully explain everything simply then it leads to confusion and a lot of frustration for the reader. 

2. Mythology: I've read some good mythology books, but they have been a major turn off for me because of all the history behind the story.

3. History: I hate history, like a lot. So if a book takes place during another time era, I probably won't like it.

4. Fairytale Retellings: The fairy-tale was already written, please leave it along.

5. Time Travel and other Sci-Fi Crap: I do not like being confused and I do not like lame action.

6. Adult: Depends on author, but I'm not really into adult books right now.

7. Fairy: I do own a ton of fairy books that I hear are really good, but I haven't really gotten into them yet. 

8. Zombies: I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND.

9. Action: I need my romance.

10. Dystopian: They are all starting to be the same idea.

Top Ten Most Intimidating Books

1. The Scarlet Letter: This was the first classic I read and I couldn't get into it. I loved the play and movie but not the book.

2. Divergent: This book scared me at first because of all the rave reviews, which I found out were rightly deserved.

3. Beautiful Darkness: I loved Beautiful Creatures but I was afraid the second book would just repeat the first. It didn't and luckily the long book was a really fast, intriguing read.

4. The Awakening: I picked up this book after loving the Vampire Diaries tv show.

5. Impulse: This book is intimidating for two reasons. 1. It looks long but I read it in 3 days because of the way it is written. 2. It tackles a lot of really intense and tough subjects.

6. City of Bones: I wanted to love this book and it was intimidating. It's a long book and to be honest I really didn't like it.

7. The Kite Runner: Because of the heavy content.

8. Reached: The length and the fact that I wasn't totally in love with Matched and Crossed.

9. Gameboard of the Gods: Sounds really good, but is a big book.

10. The Host: The length and because it has to live up to the Twilight Saga.

Top Ten Endings that Blew My Mind

1. Impulse: I will never get over this ending. It made me want to smash my head against a brick wall. It was beautiful and perfect, yet depressing. It was just plain amazing, take my word for it.

2. Pandemonium: Just finished this today and Ms. Oliver is a goddess when it comes to words and cliffhangers. I think it is safe to say she is my new favorite author.

3. Spirit Bound: I know, I know. I am taking forever with finishing this series. It is so good though! That cliffhanger really makes me want to read the last book even though I already spoiled it for myself. Yes, I know, bad Macy.

4. The Perks of Being a Wallflower: I didn't see that coming...

5. Hide and Seek: Shepard is amazing when it comes to cliffhangers. She always presents you with a whole new suspect at the end of every one of her books to through you off course. It's genius.

6. Before I Fall: Again, Lauren Oliver is amazing. This ending was so shocking that I had to reread it multiple times to finally grasp what really happened.

7. The Summoning: The action had my pulse running, I can't wait to find out what comes next in the next book.

8. Destined: I really give the Cast's credit for their endings that really keep me reading even though this series is now 12 books long....

9. Catching Fire: That last sentence. Wow.

10. Divergent: I can't wait to read Insurgent after all that action.

Top Ten Books I Recommend the Most

1. The Fault in Our Stars: This has to be my all time favorite book. I recommend it to everyone. It's one of those universal books you can talk to anyone about. All the others I met so far shared their experiences while reading this book with me. We all sympathized with each others tales of full on ugly crying as a result of this beautiful, amazing book.

2. An Abundance of Katherines: Another great John Green book, but this one made me laugh out loud. It's hilarious and a perfect book for nerds! There are even footnotes and an appendix!

3. Impulse: I tell all of my friends who have suicidal thought or cut or something similar to read this book. It changed my life and I'm just hoping more people will read it and understand how important they are and how they are not alone. This book actually helped me realize that I want to be a psychologist.

4. The Perks of Being a Wallflower: Another psychological book. I definitely think everyone should read this book before watching the movie, which is equally if not more amazing. Reading this book just adds so much more to the experience of watching the movie because then you know Charlie more.

5. Thirteen Reasons Why: This book really made me think a lot and helped me see how much people affect one another.

6. If I Stay: This book presents the question that if you had the choice would you stay on this earth or let go? This book really opened my eyes to death and really made me feel things I was afraid to before.

7. Divergent: I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who likes the Hunger Games. It's so much like it, yet still different. Personally I like Divergent better.

8. Wither: This is a very different and very good dystopian tale. I really loved the unique concept of it.

9. Twilight: A classic. Must I say more?

10. Burn for Burn: A new favorite. I just love it, need my review for it later this week! :)

Top Ten Most Anticipated Books of 2013

1. Crushed (June): PRETTY LITTLE LIARS!!!! I love this series so much it isn't even funny! It's kind of stupid at points, but all the while the suspence and crazy A mystery keeps me reading.

2. Just One Day (January): I love Gayle Forman. I loved If I Stay and Where She Went. They were so heartachingly beautiful, so I expect Just One Day to be the same. I'm so excited.

3. Paper Valentine (January): I am so excited for this book. It sounds so creepy and just plain amazing! AHHH I can't take it! I think this book will definitely keep me up at night.

4. Golden (May): This new book by Jessi Kirby sounds fantastic. I feel like I can already relate to the main character. It even has a mystery in it, which is right up my alley.

5. Sever (February): The Wither series is a super fantasticful, unique dystopian trilogy. I cannot wait to read the last book, I'm so excited.

6. Invisibility (May): This book sounds so EPIC! I love the idea of invisibilty mixed with paranormal.

7. The Moon and More (June) by Sarah Dessen... 'nuff said.  

8. The Book of Broken Hearts (May): This book sounds so good! I like me some bad boys on motorcycles... omnomnom...

9. Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend (June): I had some problems with Confessions of an Angry Girl, but I think this book will be much better. Hehe the title so describes my life right now it's not even funny...

1. The Summoning! AHH I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Why haven't I read the sequel yet? The ending is so suspenseful and the entire plot is laced together with powerful characters. This book is perfect for Halloween! So read it, read it NOW!

2. Deadly Little Secret: I'm not going to lie, this book scared the heck out of me. I tried to read it before I went to bed many nights and woke up screaming. If you want to be spooked and feel like someone is stalking you, this book is for you.

3. CHOKER! I cannot believe I never reviewed this book... It still haunts my dreams... It's so eerie and creepy it kept me up at night.

4. Beautiful Creatures is a really dark book that really gave me the spooky Halloween vibe.

5. The Morganville Vampire series reminds me of Halloweentown but with just vampires.

6. Die for Me, this is one intense, awesome book. This new type of magical creature will freshen up your Halloween.

7.  Hereafter. Yes, I know, I haven't read this book yet. It sounds so creepy and ghosty though so I just had to include it!

8. Evernight reminds me of Halloween just because it is a vampire school.

9.  Clarity is an amazing book. Actually it is one of my favorites. What could be better then a psychic solving a murder?

10. The Awakening is so vampirific. I love the Vampire Diaries show and this book just adds to the vampire-ness of Halloween.

Top Ten Books That Tackle Tough Issues

1. Thirteen Reasons Why is all about suicide... It really showed the way people affect one another and how one thing can ultimately lead to someone wanting to take their own life. Asher definitely does a great job at showing how people are cruel and don't realize that their actions affect others.

2. If I Stay talks about death of a loved one. It also talks about how great life is too. It really does a good job at summing up how love lasts through life and death.

3. The Perks of Being a Wallflower: Hehe this book is fantastic! It shows abuse, love, sex, about anything and everything that goes on in high school.

4. Clean tackles substance abuse, which lead these teens to rehab. I thought it was very interesting to read about how they all had to get back on their feet and learn to live with the past.

5. Cracked Up to Be is an awesome book! I can't believe I didn't do a review on it. It tackles wanting to commit suicide in an honest, compelling way. I really related to the main character and understood her pain.

6. Impulse: I can't wait to read this book. It deals with cutting and suicide and those deep things really make you think.

7. Before I Fall: This books shows how popularity can be a bad thing. It really shows how one person can change another's life.

8. Between Here and Forever is all about a sister dying. It's sad, but this book is awesome!

9. Speak: This is a really powerful novel. It makes you think of the people who didn't have the courage to speak up either for their friends, or for themselves. I for one have started speaking up for my friends behalf and it certainly has changed a few lives.

10. The Fault in Our Stars tackles the meaning of life and living with cancer. John Green does it flawlessly in a heartwarming way. I certainly got a lot out of this book.
